I contacted Mobile Rehab to inquire specifically about therapy for my son's right hand and arm. My son has cerebral palsy and several vision problems. He is almost 5 years-old and has been receiving multiple therapies weekly since he was 4 1/2 months-old. He has made remarkable strides over the years, however, none of his therapies have really improved his right hand and arm. We needed something different. Tami Toms, physical therapist, returned my email inquiry immediately and came to my home to meet with me and my son. She was so sincere and provided a very thoughtful and intelligent assessment as well as several options for how to proceed with treatment. She was not pushy at all and she really listened to us. Within the span of one month, Tami made two different splints/wraps for my son's hand and arm. She provided us with an activity plan and also provided valuable information about other types of specialists we had never even heard of. My son loves Tami and has made exceptional progress in such a short time. She motivated and taught me to work with my son in easy ways I had never tried. I cannot believe that my son's formerly fisted right hand is opening up and initiating contact with people and objects. He is actually choosing to use his right hand now. I think we are so lucky to have found Tami. She is an incredible person who is honest, amazingly smart and hard-working, and is easy and fun to be around. I wish we had found her sooner. I would recommend Tami to anyone looking for a physical therapist. The fact that she comes to our home is the icing on the cake because she has taught me what to do in my own house. This makes carry-over on my part so much easier. We are so fortunate to be working with Tami and Mobile Rehab. I cannot wait to see more progress form my son as we continue his therapy.
